I've tried so far to St. Johns wart, 5-HTP, kava, sam-e, root valerian, and GABA all … not at the same time, of course, but according to his instructions. None of these helped me a lot to calm the nerves. Is there anything else I can try? Please help! Thank you very much!
One that is not on your list above and is supposed to be one of the best by far for depression and Rhodiola rosea is anxiety … also known as Arctic root. No herb-drug interactions occur unlike St John's wort and is supposed to be faster performance. It is a type of adaptogen, like ginseng, and works to counter all types of stress, whether physical, physiological, emotional or mental or other way. I would give this a try. lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) Capsules or tea may help hopefully also with any sleep disorder such as anxiety related sleep disorder. Also: Are you getting enough magnesium in your diet? Magnesium is known as the anti-stress mineral. Are you enough B complex in your diet? B vitamins are known as anti-stress vitamins. I wish I had two of these in supplement form if you have a lot of stress and anxiety. Both help calm nerves and help with stress, in this regard. Magnesium is best taken with calcium and you can find in most health food stores in the best ratio: 2:1 calcium and magnesium. For complex B I would opt for a range of 50 mg of solution, as this gives a sustained release into your system that is much better as B vitamins are excreted in the urine rather quickly.
