What is it called when you use food as Alternative Medicine? Your name is Naturopathy? Holistic Nutrition?

When I look into the definition of these issues, there seems to be a wider range of methods, in addition to "nutrition" or the use of "food." Am trying to write a research paper on nutrition as an alternative therapy and would like to be more correct terminology possible. This is also something I would like to pursue as a career and am having trouble finding programs that fit this category … something like being a nutritionist … but in relation using supplements, colon, etc, and to cure diseases and promote a person to optimal health. Can anyone help me out?

I've heard many people refer to this field as phyto-chemical medicines or pesticides, although I'm not sure that's a real career field yet. Probably be a holistic health care professional or intergrative is what would be looking for. Try these two organizations for more information: Association for the Care Integrative Health Professionals (http://aihcp-norfolkva.org/AIHCP/index.html) and American Integrative Medical Association (http://aihcp-norfolkva.org/AIMA/index.html) Good luck in your career!
